The board also reviewed JLCC (Communicable and Infectious Diseases). Committee materials and staff emphasized the policy aligns district procedures with state statutes and chapter rules, including updates to chapter 258 incorporated in 2025 that explicitly mention COVID‑19. The revised policy as presented includes a board directive that "the superintendent shall follow guidance issued by the Maine CDC," and spells out reporting, exclusion from school and re-entry procedures that require medical clearance for certain notifiable conditions.
Finally, the board voted to delete JLCCR (Communicable Infectious Diseases Regulations) from the policy book and convert it to an exhibit managed operationally by the nursing team; the board's packet included a marked-up version for public review.
All three policy items moved through on first reading or motion to remove/regulate as exhibits; final adoption or administrative posting will follow the district's policy procedures.
