The Campbell City Council voted unanimously on Sept. 16 to amend the city's fiscal year 2026 schedule of fees and charges to incorporate CPI adjustments for certain housing development minor project permit fees.
Finance Director Will Fontes said the fees were approved earlier in the year but that staff discovered some housing-related fees had not been included in the CPI update. He described the change as a technical correction that will take effect in November and said the per-project fiscal impact is small. "We also do include the CPI adjustment upon those housing [items] and correct our error," Fontes said during his presentation.
Council members asked whether the fee is charged per unit or per development; staff agreed to clarify that detail in future materials. There was no public comment during the hearing.
The council moved, seconded and adopted a resolution amending housing development project permit fee rates to be incorporated into the city's FY2026 schedule of fees and charges, effective Nov. 15, 2025.
