The Sierra County Board of Supervisors appointed Sabrina Smith to the Area Agency on Aging advisory council.
A board member recommended Smith after noting the advisory council had lacked Westside representation for years. Sabrina Smith told the board she has run a meals program for seniors for seven years, described a winter-delivery model she operates, and spoke about reaching isolated residents. "For the last 7 years, I've been doing meals for seniors in town," she said.
Board members praised her work and the appointment passed by roll call. Officials said the county now has representation from both East and West sides for the agency on aging.
