For the water plant, Vander Venter engineering recommended replacing a check valve on a high‑service pump; the committee authorized the work not to exceed $9,600. Members noted the work is necessary to maintain reliable pump operation and to prevent downstream issues while other water‑system maintenance proceeds.
The committee also approved personnel probation recommendations and a modest change to lead/copper sampling coupon fees (totaling $270) to comply with updated sampling requirements, and amended the holiday lighting coupon program amount from $10 to $15. Staff will proceed with purchases and design contracts and bring vendor agreements or contract language to council as required by procurement rules.
