Burr Ridge adopts balanced FY2026 budget; no property tax increase for sixth year

The Village of Burr Ridge Board of Trustees voted unanimously to adopt the fiscal year 2026 budget, the final step in the municipality's budget process.
Addressing the board, Evan (village staff) described the FY2026 ordinance as the final budget adoption and said both the FY2025 and FY2026 budgets are balanced. He told trustees the village has not increased property taxes for six consecutive years and the village remains debt-free. "This is the final step in our budget process... both the FY25 and 26 budgets are balanced," Evan said.
Trustees moved, seconded and approved the ordinance by roll call vote, 5-0. Mayor Evan Graasso thanked staff for their work on the budget and noted the village received an award for its fiscal management.
The vote formally adopts the budget for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2025 and ending April 30, 2026. Trustees were told that further amendments would be handled on a quarterly basis going forward and that no changes could be accepted immediately following adoption.
The board handled several routine financial items earlier in the meeting through a consent agenda, approving vendor lists and contracts referenced in the packet, including a landscaping contract for pedestrian improvements ($35,968), street-sweeping renewal ($40,000), and janitorial services renewal ($46,500). The consent agenda and vendor lists were approved by omnibus vote earlier in the meeting.
