Road-and-bridge staff brought a price list to the board on March 17 outlining hourly equipment-operator rates, ditching and mowing options, sign pricing and an approach to bridge-material bidding.
Staff said figures on the list reflect current inventory prices and that larger bridge beams and state-eligible bridge work will be bid separately because prices fluctuate. The presentation included an hourly rate used for the motor grader and clarified that minor bridge materials (primer, epoxy) were listed but structural components would be bid when needed.
Officials noted three bridges they expect to replace (one designated as a state bridge and two local bridges that may qualify later for state soft-match funding) and said a deck pour for one active project is scheduled this Thursday; the deck must cure for roughly a week before finishing work and guardrail installation.
Dennis Bowers said he plans to hand out the price list and township maps at the township meeting. He asked whether he should advertise for an equipment operator; commissioners recommended hiring someone with prior experience to reduce training burden.
No board action was taken beyond direction to distribute the materials and produce maps and price lists for townships.
