The Radford University Board of Visitors on March 20 added and adopted a special resolution honoring the leaders of the university's newly launched six-year strategic plan, Shaping Tomorrow Together, and reviewed a dashboard designed to track progress on the plan.
Rector Lester asked the board to add a resolution recognizing the leadership of the strategic planning team. The board then adopted the resolution by voice vote.
Board members then received a live demonstration of the strategic-plan tracking dashboard. Ryan Boyer showed three access points for oversight: a link on the board website, a campus site for broader community access, and a BoardEffect folder containing the plan PDF. The dashboard displays 53 strategies organized under six themes and indicates whether each strategy is on track, off track, or not started, alongside metrics, last-update dates and comment fields.
Boyer said the tool is intended to give the board a governance lens on strategy execution and allow members to check progress between meetings. Presenters and the board noted divisional plans that ladder to the institutional plan and described quarterly and annual tracking to measure results.
The resolution and the dashboard demonstration are both intended to push transparency and accountability as the university transitions from planning to operationalizing the strategic priorities.
The board adopted the resolution honoring the strategic-planning leaders and accepted the dashboard demonstration; the administration will provide ongoing updates and invites board feedback on the dashboard access and metrics.
