The board approved a two‑year Memorandum of Agreement with Doña Ana County at the March 25 meeting. Executive Director David Armo said the MOA is a cornerstone for unlocking federal matching funds and supporting ongoing operations in a period of sustained ridership growth.
Armo reviewed recent service expansion, weekend and late‑night service increases, and said the agency projects ridership growth from about 165,000 in the prior year toward roughly 195,000 next year. He told the board that the agency's budget request for the coming year (FY2027) is about $1.3 million and that a two‑year agreement would reduce annual administrative burden when preparing county funding requests.
The board voted unanimously to approve the two‑year MOA; staff will provide the approved request to county officials and continue coordinating regional funding and service implementation.
