Lisa Bonnington, president and CEO of the Fairfield Cissoon Chamber of Commerce, presented the chamber's "year well served" summary to the joint meeting, spotlighting activities intended to cultivate local business and community engagement.
Bonnington cited online engagement metrics (she reported roughly 300,000 annual website visits and 223,000 business-directory searches) and said chamber programming increased visibility for local businesses through newsletters, events and direct referrals. She noted the farmers market partnership with Kaiser Permanente and Republic Services and said SNAP usage at market vendors increased by about 30 percent year-over-year.
The chamber previewed the return of the farmers market on the first Thursday in May for 22 weeks, announced the revived "Best of Fairfield and Cissoon" community awards event in October, and described a new curated community calendar expected to launch in March to showcase themed events and member offerings. Bonnington introduced Derek Freeman of Travis Credit Union, the meeting's presenting sponsor, and thanked civic partners and volunteers.
