The Duval County Finance Committee on March 17 approved an amendment to the PSG priorities bill (2026-138) to add a microrant (microgrant) category funded at 3 percent, reducing allocations in other PSG categories to accommodate the change. The amendment, offered by Council Vice President Nick Howland, passed on a 4–1 vote after a lengthy debate over the microrant program’s original intent, staffing capacity and whether the administration or a third party should implement the program.
