County opens bids for tractors and mowers; dump truck gets no bids

At the March 23 Carroll County meeting, county staff opened sealed quotes submitted for DPW equipment and reported the outcome for each lot.
DPW presented multiple quotes for compact track loaders: a John Deere G325G compact track loader quoted at $83,275, a Kubota SVL753-style compact track loader quoted at about $73,808, and a JCB model quoted at $67,500. Bids for rotary cutters and a John Deere commercial zero-turn mower were also read aloud. Staff said the bid packages would be reviewed against specifications by the DPW director before award.
There were no timely bids for the dump truck package. Commissioners directed staff to re-advertise the dump truck (with plow) and indicated staff would reach out to dealerships that had expressed interest but whose materials apparently did not arrive in time.
DPW said it would inspect the bid packages and return with a recommendation; the meeting transcript recorded the quoted totals as read from the sealed bids and showed commissioners asking staff to verify line-item and option differences where bid forms listed alternate totals.
The county did not take a formal award action for any lot at the March 23 meeting. Staff will report back after technical review of bids and after reissuing the dump-truck solicitation.
