Committee members told trustees they reviewed the contractor's fleet inventory and clarified contract language so that students will be assigned only to buses inspected locally and by state patrol. The agreement carries a 3–3.5% annual increase over current rates; the committee noted districts should expect higher costs when the contract is next re-bid.
A board member asked for clarification about buses that Davis owns but does not house locally; committee members responded that the contract would ensure buses used for district routes are those inspected locally. Trustees moved and seconded the extension and approved it by roll call.
The committee also reported a recent spot inspection by the state patrol showed no safety issues, aside from an administrative registration matter on a sub bus that was not a safety concern.
