At its March 19 meeting the Dunedin City Commission approved the following formal actions (all votes recorded as unanimous unless noted):
- Consent agenda: approved (minutes, board/committee appointments, supplement awards including marina design contract to Kimberly Horn & Associates, property-casualty broker award).
- Continued: Ordinance 25-02 (historic preservation amendments) was continued to April 16, 2026.
- Adopted: Ordinance 26-01 (solid-waste rate adjustments and CPI indexing). Effective date for first change: April 1, 2026.
- Adopted: Resolution 26-05 establishing the Golf Club Advisory Committee (seven seats; alternates to be non‑members; staggered terms); staff to open application window and return with appointments.
- Adopted: Resolution 26-06 — FY26 first budget amendment (carry‑forward appropriations totaling about $31.4M, including $15.4M PO carryforwards and $15.9M capital project rebudgets). Finance staff noted some enterprise funds (solid waste, stormwater, golf operations, health) remain below targeted reserves and will be monitored.
- Contract award: Bid 25-2545 FY26 mill-and-overlay to Preferred Materials, Inc. (low responsive bidder) for approximately $2.248M; approved a change order adding ~$281,339 to expand scope (additional curbing and Rodmar Drive) and 32 contract days.
Each of the above items will have implementation responsibilities assigned to the relevant departments (Public Works, Utilities, Finance) as recorded in commission minutes. Staff indicated follow-up reporting and public notice obligations where relevant (e.g., rate implementation and budget tracking).
