Board approves plats for infill lots, townhomes and 24-lot Bailey Park development
Summary
The board approved preliminary and final plats for 1101 Ohio Street (lot split), Park Street Community LLC townhome lots, and a final plat for Steiner Homes’ Bailey Park (24 townhome lots). Developer Dan Steiner said construction and water-tap work are underway and the project will start with duplex units.
The La Porte City Board of Public Works approved three residential development items on March 17.
City planning staff presented a preliminary and final plat for 1101 Ohio Street to split two existing houses into separate lots; the plan commission recommended approval and the board voted to approve the plat. Staff also presented a preliminary-and-final-plat package for Park Street Community LLC to create building lots for townhomes along Park Street and Deer Trail Lane; that package was approved.
The board also approved a final plat for Steiner Homes’ Bailey Park subdivision, which creates 24 townhome lots and a drainage outlot with access to West 18th Street. Dan Steiner addressed the board and said road stone is in place, water taps are pending, and he expects to start two duplexes immediately; addresses need county assignment before building permits can proceed.
All plans were presented as compliant with the zoning district requirements and were recommended by the plan commission before board approval.
