Staff reported the district received an unexpected allocation earmarked for student scholarships. Burke said the board would need a formal resolution to authorize use of those funds; the board moved to accommodate that request and staff will prepare the required resolution or budget amendment.
The board also chose a name for the new high school, selecting Dashuites River High School for the facility expected to open in the fall. Dean Richards, Linda Adams and Aaron Johnson reported on secondary math curriculum adoptions during the meeting.
Burke provided a superintendent's update on budget priorities and noted that the recent short legislative session left the state school fund "held flat or harmless," which she described as favorable for district finances.
The meeting concluded with directors' comments about school visits, robotics events and other activities. The session adjourned at about 8:20 p.m.
