Village manager Tim told the board on Sept. 22 that First Avenue construction finished one day early and traffic reopened last Friday. He warned that Ogden Avenue — just west of the village limits — will be reduced to a single lane in each direction starting the following day and that the project will likely run into early December, creating traffic tie‑ups.
Tim recommended avoiding that portion of Ogden while work is underway and said staff had been in frequent contact with neighboring jurisdictions and project leads. President Garvey said staff worked to delay Ogden by a week to avoid overlapping closures with First Avenue and thanked staff for coordinating with neighboring communities. "We're doing everything we can to minimize the impact," Garvey said at the meeting.
Officials emphasized continuing to patronize businesses along affected corridors while planning alternate routes and extra travel time during construction.
