Wayne County labor-relations staff and the county HR director presented a status report for fiscal year 2025 outlining ongoing labor-management work and committee activity across county departments.
Anderson, a labor-relations and dispute-resolution partner, described regular safety committees in departments including DPS, HHVS and the sheriff’s office and summarized labor-management committees held with several unions. Donna Wilson, the county’s HR director, said the joint health-care benefits committee meets regularly and includes union participation so labor can provide input into health-care management.
Commissioner Angelie Peterson Mayberry asked how frequently the commission would receive this report; staff said budget instructions suggest two reports per year. Commissioner Peterson Mayberry moved to receive and file the report and the committee voted to carry the motion.
