Superintendent Dr. Redmond said responders arrived quickly and the school accounted for every student and staff member "in less than about 8 minutes," calling the collective reaction "amazing." He named staff and volunteers who took leadership roles during the incident, including building staff who organized the gymnasium and auditorium and transportation employees who brought buses promptly.
Ashley Brungard, the high‑school child‑care instructor who was on duty the day of the alarm, described evacuating 22 preschoolers and the role students played in calling parents, signing children out and keeping the preschoolers calm. "They were truly amazing," she told the board, recounting that students asked whether she was okay and offered hugs after the event.
Board members gave an extended round of thanks and applause to the staff, students and emergency personnel, and took a photograph with the banner recognizing those who assisted that day.
