Bill Fallon, appearing on Good News Glenn, said the county previously completed a project to improve drainage and parking at Mallalerie Park and that the private group will rework the playing surfaces so the fields are consistent—about 200 feet each—so the park can host tournaments and all-star games. "We've already done the county project... and now this group is going to come in and... redo the fields just to make it what we want to do is have three 200-foot fields so that we can actually host tournaments there," Fallon said.
Why it matters: Standardized, tournament-capable fields can increase the county’s ability to host regional events and bring visitors and related revenue to Brunswick and Glynn County.
