Staff recommended, and the committee approved, a funding increase of $795,833 (about 70%), increasing the project total from about $1,128,000 to $1,923,833. Committee discussion focused on why state-road projects frequently trigger higher costs (pavement standards, drainage, traffic-control line items) and the role of solicitation caps and application completeness in producing high percentage increases.
The committee voted to approve the increased funding; staff will update project records and note the design additions in the project file.
