Bonet reported roughly 2,950 responses in 2025 across fire and medical calls, with more than 3,700 training hours logged. He said the department has three new apparatus on order — including two 3,000‑gallon tankers with 1,500‑gallon pumps and a Freightliner pumper — and expects the units to replace aging vehicles and strengthen regional response capacity. New thermal cameras were obtained through a Firehouse Subs Safety Foundation grant, and the department is acquiring battery‑powered spreaders and ram rescue tools.
"We just acquired ... three brand new trucks," Bonet said, outlining where apparatus will be staged across stations. He also recognized Captain Cassidy Scott as the fire district’s firefighter of the year and recounted that Scott and the crew used award money to buy groceries for a 107‑year‑old resident who had food taken from his home.
Council members asked whether the department has specialized equipment for grain‑bin rescues; Bonet said the equipment is not currently in the fleet but could be considered. The chief also noted multi‑agency drills and a four‑story training tower at the district’s training grounds.
No council action resulted from the report; Bonet’s presentation served to update the council on operational readiness and equipment needs.
