The Elkhart Community Schools board moved and seconded the consent agenda and took a moment to recognize the late Bruce Clinowski for long service to the district. The board announced donations and in-kind gifts originally described in aggregate as $19,750 and later corrected in the meeting to $20,000; donations included funds for social workers, theater (Edward Jones $500), the JROTC, automotive equipment valued at $16,000, and athletic support.
The chair called for a voice vote; the board chair announced the motion passed. Later in the meeting Miss Lozano presented the administration’s personnel report; the board moved, seconded and approved the personnel report by voice vote.
In new business the administration presented for initial consideration a proposed plan document and summary plan description for the district’s medical flexible spending accounts and a proposed replacement to Board Policy 2340 (field and other corporation-sponsored trips). Both items were informational and returned to staff for further work and questions ahead of the next meeting; board members were invited to direct questions to Mr. Thorn in the next two weeks.
No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the transcript; outcomes were announced by the chair.
