Separately, the Council approved multiple green-sheet grants administered by the Department of Innovation and Technology and the Office of Workforce Development: a Connected and Online Program award (~$430,340) to provide laptops and desktop bundles for public access sites and workforce centers; a $100,000 MassTech pass-through for multi-session digital skills workshops and device distributions; a $100,000 municipal ADA improvement grant to update the city's web-accessibility transition plan; and a $20,930 fellowship award to support stipends for IT-training program graduates. Sponsors emphasized cross-department collaboration and deadlines for program delivery (most grants to be completed by fall 2026 or June 2026 for ADA work).
The Council approved these grant acceptances on voice and roll-call votes during the meeting; sponsors committed to site visits and reporting back on deployment progress.
