Redondo Beach begins Measure FP bond implementation; city awards contracts and touts new emergency systems

He also said the city's drone program recorded 764 responses last year and assisted in locating 302 suspects; approval for beyond‑line‑of‑sight operations is in process pending operator certification.
Light credited the community decision to retain local firefighting services rather than switch to county provision, saying local deployment yields faster response times and preserves capacity. He also said the council approved a coyote management and response plan to address dangerous animal incidents.
