Fort Myers Beach opens bids for Estero Island dune repair; seven submissions received

Conner Nally, contracts and procurement manager for the Town of Fort Myers Beach, opened the public bid reading at 2:15 p.m. March 27 in Town Hall Council Chambers for ITB 26-05-EN, Estero Island Dune Repair and Scour Fill Truck Haul. "We received seven bids for the solicitation," Nally said as he read the list of firms and amounts.
The bids read by Nally included: EarthTech Enterprises ($2,099,100), Dickerson Florida Inc. ($2,481,800), Pearson Service Corp. ($2,495,834.79), Eastman Aggregate ($2,583,000), Grubbs Emergency Services ($3,447,200) and Gulfshore Marine Construction (recording contained extra digits; presented here as $3,053,442). Nally also announced an incomplete submission from Phillips and Jordan Inc.; "they did not upload any of the forms, and their bid amount is only $0," he said.
Nally said the invitation to bid was posted Feb. 25, 2026, at 10:04 a.m. and that bids were required to be filed electronically through DemandStar by 2:00 p.m. local time on March 27. He noted four addenda were issued and reminded attendees that the town reserves the right to waive informalities, reject any and all bids, and make awards in the town's best interest.
All bids "will be reviewed for responsiveness and responsibility," Nally said. He outlined post-award requirements: within 10 business days of a notice of award or intent to award, the awarded bidder must provide a public construction bond (or letter of credit or cash bond) and a certificate of insurance.
The town's award recommendation is tentatively scheduled for presentation to the Town Council on Monday, April 20, 2026. Bid results will be posted on DemandStar. Nally closed the session at 2:19 p.m.
Next steps: town staff will complete the responsiveness and responsibility review and post the formal recommendation and award details to DemandStar and the town's official records when available.
