Vallejo commission opens public comment and surveys for CDBG and HOME allocations for FY 2026–27

Director Jones and staff explained program limits (for example, CDBG public service caps and administrative caps) and said the city will issue a new RFP for certain HOME‑related down‑payment programs. The commission announced community surveys would be open online from Feb. 5 through Feb. 22 and that staff will use responses to draft the annual action plan, followed by another public hearing on the draft.
Why it matters: The CDBG and HOME allocations determine which local nonprofits and projects will receive federal funds for affordable housing, homeless services and neighborhood improvements. Staff said the commission will recruit a subcommittee to review applications when grant amounts are finalized.
