Oakdale council approves plans and authorizes bids for four street, sidewalk and paving projects

Consulting city engineer Brian Bachmire presented plans and specifications for four capital projects and asked council to authorize advertisement for bids.
The projects presented were: R2026‑01A, the 2026 street reconstruction involving Greenway Avenue (multiple segments), Grafton, 3rd and 4th Street Court; R2026‑01B, a Greenway Avenue sidewalk from Hudson Boulevard to 7th Street (proposed to be bid separately because of federal grant auditing requirements); R2026‑02, the 2026 mill and overlay (7th Street from 120 to Hadley and Greenway Avenue from 7th to 10th); and P2026‑03, the Tanner Park South parking lot repaving including the boat ramp drive, parking stalls and connection to Second Street.
Bids for the sidewalk (R2026‑01B) would be advertised separately because of federal grant auditing rules; the other three projects would be combined in a second contract. Bachmire said the bid advertisement would begin upon council approval, bids would be opened on April 9 and the council would consider contract award on April 28.
Council moved, seconded and adopted Resolution 2026‑12 to approve the plans and specifications and to authorize advertisement and collection of bids; the action was recorded as adopted by voice vote.
No contract awards were made at the meeting; staff will return on or after April 28 with contract recommendations following the bid opening.
