WALDWICK — At its meeting, the Waldwick Borough Council approved a consent agenda of routine resolutions covering grant submissions, non‑fair‑and‑open professional service contracts, appointment and reappointment of clerical staff and temporary emergency hires, raffle licenses and a waiver of permit fees for a generator installation at Waldwick High School.
The consent agenda passed on a motion and second; the clerk recorded unanimous affirmative roll‑call votes from the members present.
Key items in the consent package included authorization to submit a fiscal‑year recreation improvement grant to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, a non‑fair‑and‑open contract to a telecommunications attorney in an amount not to exceed $10,000, and an employee assistance program service contract.
Council also introduced Ordinance 20261 (first reading) to amend Chapter 91 (Vehicles and Traffic) to set a 30‑minute parking time limit on parts of West Prospect Street. The police department recommended the change to discourage long‑term commuter and overnight parking and to improve turnover for local customers. The motion to move Ordinance 20261 to first reading was made and seconded and carried on roll call; a public hearing and final adoption are scheduled for the council's next meeting.
