Wildwood Crest commission adopts slate of routine resolutions, urges state emergency declaration

The Wildwood Crest Borough Commission unanimously adopted a series of resolutions at its Dec. 3 meeting, approving beach-concession and beach-rental contracts, emergency road repairs, multiple board and commission appointments, a budget amendment tied to a donation for Sunset Lake improvements, and an add-on resolution urging the governor to declare a state of emergency for the Jersey Shore in response to coastal storm damage.

The board approved awards for beach concessions limited to specified product categories (ice cream and bottled water) and separate awards for umbrella, chair and flotation-device rentals; it also approved a contract for ocean surf-camp and water-safety instruction. Each resolution was moved, seconded and passed on recorded roll-call votes that were recorded as “yes” for the three commissioners present: Mr. Schiff, Commissioner Joseph Franco Jr., and Mr. Cabera.

Commissioners approved a $350 refund for a Pier Playmates camp fee and an abatement of fees to Kobe Dogs LLC related to construction delays; staff confirmed the business had paid its 2025 fees in full. The commission also accepted a $4,865 donation to fund picnic tables and other public-access improvements at Sunset Lake and amended the borough’s 2025 budget to account for that donation.

Personnel items carried by roll call included extensions of interim borough administrator Francine B. Springer and deputy borough administrator Patricia A. Feicetex until the full-time administrator position is filled, and numerous reappointments to planning and advisory boards and commissions. The commission authorized an emergency paving contract for repairs on Farragate Road, citing the applicable state purchasing statute.

An add-on resolution, moved later in the meeting, urged New Jersey’s governor to declare a state disaster emergency for the Jersey Shore because of coastal storm damage; that resolution also passed unanimously. The commission ended the business portion of the meeting by authorizing payment of all properly approved bills.

The commission moved to accept a set of routine department reports for the month ending Nov. 30, 2025 and approved minutes from the Nov. 18 and Dec. 3 meetings. The board then heard reports from public-safety and engineering staff and opened public comment.
