Council approves liquor-license transfer for 250–252 Midland Ave; owner pledges renovation, parking retained

Samaran Zeric of the Gary Zeric law firm introduced the application on behalf of the buyer and said the managing member, Parish Patel, purchased both the building and the license. Patel told councilors the owner plans a full renovation of the building, expects to use the ground floor for a restaurant tenant and intends to preserve the adjacent enclosed lot for parking, estimating space for about 16 cars.
Council members asked about the planned use of the lot and whether it would remain dedicated to parking. Patel replied the lot would be kept for parking. Council members who spoke—Councilmember Delaney and Deputy Mayor Kaine—said they welcomed redevelopment of a long‑vacant property on Midland Avenue and emphasized the importance of retaining parking in the area.
Following the presentation and a short question‑and‑answer period with the applicant, Delaney moved the resolution with a second; the roll call recorded the motion carrying. Mayor Ever Egarnto Jr., Deputy Mayor Kaine and Councilmember Delaney voted in favor; two members were recorded absent earlier in the meeting.
The council did not attach additional conditions on the license transfer at the meeting. The applicant and attorney were thanked and escorted from the dais.
