A representative resident satisfaction survey of 425 Greenwich respondents found generally high satisfaction with town services and quality of life but flagged traffic congestion and communications as recurring concerns.
Consultant Adam Probosski presented the methodology and results, telling the board the sample size is robust for a town of Greenwich's size and that most service categories showed majority positive ratings. “You have really positive strong numbers,” he said, while noting a national trend of slightly diminished trust in institutions that can dampen local figures.
Top-of-mind responses identified education, safety and open space among residents’ priorities, while a separate closed-question series showed about 69% satisfied with overall services and 89% satisfied with quality of life. Traffic and congestion repeatedly appeared as the most commonly cited problem in open-ended answers, and selectpersons asked for year‑over‑year comparisons and benchmarking against peer communities.
Board members asked for follow-up slides showing comparisons to prior surveys and to neighboring towns. Staff said they would work with the consultant to produce trend charts and selected peer comparisons for the next meeting.
