Committee approves Tyler Munis renewal and agrees to trustee access via Executive Insights

The General Government & Finance Committee approved the annual Tyler Technologies (Tyler Munis) ERP service renewal and agreed to provide trustees dashboard access through Tyler’s Executive Insights reporting tool.

Matthew (finance director) told the committee the renewal for the village’s Tyler Munis ERP system will be roughly $88,000, a decrease from prior estimates and last year’s costs after negotiating rates and removing unused modules. Trustees approved the renewal by voice vote.

Committee members then discussed how trustees could review financial information without broad system privileges. Matthew and staff recommended Executive Insights, a dashboard and reporting module that can provide fund-level, payroll-year-to-date and utility-consumption reporting in a read-only format and protect sensitive payroll data. Matthew said Executive Insights is already part of the village’s Munis environment and that staff would provision trustee access using village email logins and supply help templates and an overview by the next meetings.

Trustees emphasized security and internal-control practices; staff said Executive Insights can be set up with appropriate read-only controls and that they would start by provisioning dashboards and then expand access if trustees need additional views. Trustee Jan Miller asked for a demonstration at a village board meeting after trustees test the access.

The approvals and the Executive Insights rollout aim to give trustees easier, more interpretable budget and fund reports without exposing payroll or invoice-level details.
