Stagecoach Advisory Board approves agenda, defers March minutes; public-safety and county reports given

The Stagecoach Advisory Board adopted its April 1 agenda 4-0, deferred approval of the March minutes for lack of quorum of March attendees, heard community reports from Lyon County Commissioner Tammy Hendrix and public-safety statistics from Deputy Ziegenfuss, and received an update from Central Lyon Fire District Assistant Chief Ryan McIntosh before adjourning at 7:49 p.m.
The Stagecoach Advisory Board adopted its April 1, 2026 agenda after a motion by Casandra Aveiro and a second from David Palmer; the motion passed 4-0. Approval of the March 4, 2026 meeting minutes was deferred because too few members who attended the March meeting were present to give a quorum for that item.
Commissioner Tammy Hendrix reported several county approvals and planning actions, including a planned-unit development approval for the Winston Solar Project with standard setbacks, two conditional use permits for Microsoft substations in Silver Springs, approval of a Lux Solar project in Mason Valley and related CUP, adoption of the South Silver Springs area Master Drainage Plan, expansion of the Silver Springs GID sewer service area to serve Microsoft, and zoning and PUD actions for the Traditions project in Dayton.
Deputy Ziegenfuss, reporting for the Sheriff Department/Nevada Highway Patrol, said there were 402 calls for service in Silver Springs and 87 in Stagecoach; 35 arrests in Silver Springs and none in Stagecoach; 80 traffic stops in Silver Springs and 17 in Stagecoach; 8 citations issued in Silver Springs and 3 in Stagecoach; and 59 reports gathered in Silver Springs and 7 in Stagecoach. Deputy Ziegenfuss also noted that Lyon County Search and Rescue will hold a bingo night on April 18 at the Mason Valley Boys & Girls Club to raise money for their annual kids’ life-vest giveaway on Memorial Day and July 4.
Ryan McIntosh, assistant fire chief for the Central Lyon Fire District, said the district is updating its website at www.centrallyonfire.org and posts board agendas and minutes monthly. He noted that burn season is expected to close in early May given dry conditions; the district was unable to renew a FEMA urban renewal grant used previously for property cleanup assistance due to Department of Homeland Security funding constraints, but plans to reapply when possible and continues its trailer program.
Grace Frank announced a Quarterly Veterans Outreach event on April 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and asked for community assistance getting veterans to contact the VA or her team. Rebecca Martinez asked about possibly holding a Candidates Night in May. The meeting adjourned at 7:49 p.m.
