Board confirms personnel agenda, names Wendy Settler middle-school social-studies supervisor

The Edison Township Board of Education approved its personnel agenda and introduced Wendy Settler as the district’s newly appointed middle-school social-studies supervisor during its May meeting.
Board members congratulated Settler, who spoke briefly: “I just want to thank the entire board and Dr. Alderelli for all of their support and I’m excited to continue working with the students and the staff of Edison Public Schools,” she said.
The superintendent highlighted Teacher Appreciation Week and school-nurse recognition, encouraged community involvement with the district education foundation and described plans for an alumni portal and future foundation events. The ETA president, Matt Revnack, called attention to awards and upcoming events including J.P. Stevens’ 50th-anniversary jazz program and congratulated a district support-professional award recipient.
A member of the public asked for an update on emails and alleged concerns around a risk-manager appointment. Administrators said they are reviewing the materials and noted that some of the referenced items relate to a contract executed in 2021; no formal disciplinary action or findings were announced at the meeting.
The personnel agenda passed by roll call; the board also approved other routine agenda items. The meeting closed with congratulations to student winners in a youth-poet contest and recognition of athletic achievements at J.P. Stevens.
