The Bethalto CUSD 8 Board of Education approved personnel actions and several routine financial motions during the meeting. The board voted to approve non-certified hires and extracurricular appointments, including custodial and kitchen staff, bus monitors and a list of extracurricular sponsors and coaches.
On roll call the board also approved a revised stipend schedule and a transfer of $18,000 from credit lines to district Visa cards for operational use. Every recorded roll-call item in the meeting passed with 'yes' votes from the board members present.
The personnel slate read into the record included: Matthew Douglas (custodian, CHS); Ricks (bus monitor); Melissa Williams (bus monitor); Samantha Flanigan (bus monitor); and multiple extracurricular appointments including an esports assistant coach and GSA sponsors. Board discussion on these items was procedural and limited to the motions and roll-call confirmations.
The board opened a short public-comment period after those approvals; a student from the media club offered brief remarks before the meeting proceeded to routine closing items.
