SAN MATEO‑FOSTER CITY, Calif. — The San Mateo‑Foster City School District board of trustees on June 26 approved the district’s 2025–26 budget, the updated Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and multiple personnel, contract and consent items during a regular meeting.
The board moved and approved the consent agenda after trustees removed items C4 (LCFF local indicators) and C5 (consolidated application) for brief discussion and then voted to approve those items. District staff explained the LCFF local indicator ratings reflected gaps in the history/social science curriculum and that a full adoption is likely several years away; trustees approved the consolidated application after staff described low Title III immigrant enrollment and federal funding uncertainties.
Trustees approved the district’s 2025–26 budget after a presentation by finance staff. The board also approved item 6A, the 2025–26 LCAP, which staff said incorporated updated assessment data and trustee suggestions from prior meetings.
On personnel and labor items, staff presented AB1200 public‑disclosure cost documents required before district approval of collective bargaining agreements. The tentative reopener agreement with CSEA (the union representing classified employees) had been ratified by CSEA members earlier in the week; trustees approved the AB1200 disclosures and the board approved subsequent salary schedules and management/confidential salary increases after separate AB1200 reviews.
There were no roll‑call tallies recorded in the transcript; multiple items were approved by voice vote after the president called for “All in favor, say ‘I.’” The transcript records no formal recorded dissent on the approved items.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the approved budget and LCAP implementation and will finalize contract paperwork and salary schedules consistent with the AB1200 disclosures approved by the board. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 28, 2025.
