BOC approves slate of district and charter projects; minutes adopted

The recommendation passed by roll call with 12 affirmative votes and one abstention.
On charter facilities, the committee recommended three critical-repair projects — including HVAC replacements and associated electrical and fire-alarm upgrades at district‑owned sites leased by charter operators — with a combined project value of roughly $55 million. The resolution was adopted by roll call (12 yes, 1 no). Presenters said work will be phased to minimize disruption and may require coordination with utilities for transformer and service upgrades.
No additional funding commitments were made during the meeting. Several community groups attending urged the committee to consider additional uses of bond funds for greening projects (see separate coverage). The committee noted standard project reporting requirements and next steps for project delivery and permitting.
