Elk Grove Unified board approves recognition resolutions, consent agenda and ratifies AFSCME tentative agreement

The board approved several resolutions by voice vote: Resolution No. 28 (2025–26) recognizing National School Psychology Week (Nov. 3–7, 2025); Resolution No. 30 designating November 2025 as Native American Heritage Month; Resolution No. 29 designating November 2025 as Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month; Resolution No. 20 endorsing Nov. 14, 2025 as Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day; and Resolution No. 19 recognizing Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 23–31, 2025). Presenters described planned curricular resources, community partnerships and student activities associated with the observances.
The board also approved consent agenda items 1–47 by unanimous vote, with one brief blue-card comment in support of theatrical festival trips.
District staff presented a tentative agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 258 for the 2024–25 and 2025–26 school years; the tentative agreement had been ratified by union members and an AB1200 fiscal report was submitted to the Sacramento County Office of Education for review. The board voted to ratify the agreement.
