Carlsbad Unified trustees announced Tuesday that the board, in closed session, appointed Dr. Rob Nye as assistant superintendent of services effective July 1. The appointment came by motion of Trustee Ward with Trustee Verbbeth seconding; Ward, Verbbeth, Seos and Emory voted in favor and Trustee Rawlings voted no.
Later on the open agenda the board unanimously appointed Andrea Norman as secretary to the board effective June 16; the motion carried 5-0. Trustees also approved a motion to move agenda item 7.2 (assistant-superintendent contracts and related materials) to the June 18 meeting so that contract materials can be posted with the agenda.
Separately, after discussion of the minutes and a failed amendment attempt, the board approved consent calendar item 6.3 by a 3-2 vote.
