The Kane County Liquor Control Commission on March 19 approved a restaurant license for Rancho Mania, an event venue in Hampshire that will operate seasonally on Saturdays and host up to 200 people.
County staff introduced the applicant, Mr. Maneras, who told the commission the venue will operate primarily for events such as weddings and baptisms from spring through fall, that food will be provided by caterers rather than prepared on site, and that the maximum capacity is 200. Mr. Maneras said inspections and final occupancy approval were pending.
Commissioners asked where events would take place and how close the venue is to neighboring residences; the applicant said the facility is on a farm with barns, has a patio and yard outside the barn but events would be inside the barn, and is about 700 feet from the nearest non-landlord residence. Commissioners referenced a 2025 county-board special-use approval that included restrictions on days of operation and amplified outdoor music; staff said the applicant has represented that he will operate within those restrictions.
After a motion and second, the commission voted unanimously to approve the restaurant license. Commissioners congratulated the applicant and wished him success, then moved on to other business.
The panel adjourned later in the meeting.
