Fallbrook trustees approve minutes, policy, safety plans and calendar in routine actions

The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Board of Trustees took several routine actions at the meeting, unanimously approving minutes, adopting a board policy on response to immigration enforcement, appointing trustees to a facilities master plan committee, and adopting comprehensive school safety plans and an early-childhood center instructional calendar.
Clerical and procedural items were handled first. The board approved the Jan. 21, 2025 special meeting minutes and the Jan. 23, 2024 regular meeting minutes after motions and seconds; the votes were recorded as unanimous.
Under board operations, trustees adopted an amendment to the 2025 meeting schedule and then moved to adopt Board Policy BP 5145 (recorded in the minutes as "BP 5145 uh3 response to immigration enforcement"). Trustees thanked staff for bringing the policy forward quickly; the motion passed unanimously.
The board listed several policies for first reading and future discussion, including BP 3220 (Claims and Actions Against the District), BP 3515 (Sex Offender Notification), BP 5113.1 (Chronic Absence, as recorded), BB 9240 (Board Training) and BB 9270 (Conflict of Interests).
Nominations were opened for two seats on the Facilities Master Plan Committee. Because two candidates were nominated, the board appointed the two nominees recorded in the minutes (Mr Hansen and Mr goldbeck) to the committee without requiring further voting.
Senior Director Leonard Rodriguez presented required elements of the district's comprehensive school safety plans and described the district's methods for evaluating plan effectiveness. The board then voted to adopt comprehensive school safety plans for the 2024-25 year for the listed school sites; the motion carried unanimously.
Trustees adopted the Mike Cho Center for Early Childhood Development instructional calendar for the 2025-26 school year after noting the calendar starts in July and runs through June. The meeting concluded with approval of the consent agenda and adjournment at 7:40 p.m.
The actions taken were routine approvals required for district operations; staff indicated that policies listed for first reading will be returned to the board for further discussion and potential approval at a subsequent meeting.
