The commission voted to approve a replacement deck at 373 Collinsville Road and accepted an application from the Town of Farmington Recreation Department for a batting cage at 20 Wolf Pit Road.
Ryan Murphy, owner of 373 Collinsville Road, described a replacement south-side deck measuring about 26.5 by 12.5 feet, constructed on concrete sonotube footings. The commission accepted the application, found it not significant and approved the project by motion.
Jesse Katano of the Farmington Recreation Department presented plans for a permanent batting cage installed on the field’s existing stone-dust surfacing. Photos and maps showed the cage sited in a lawn/stone-dust area; commissioners confirmed wetlands and state/federal wetland boundaries lie in the wooded perimeter and will not be cleared. The commission accepted the application, determined no sitewalk was necessary, required standard erosion control (straw waddles) during construction and formally found the project not significant.
Outcome: Both applications were accepted and approved; the batting-cage installation will proceed with routine erosion-control measures and winter removal of nets as described by the Recreation Department.
