The Clearlake City Council read proclamations on April 2 designating April 2026 as Arts, Culture and Creativity Month and as Fair Housing Month.
The arts proclamation noted statewide recognition of the month and cited economic statistics about arts-related jobs and economic contribution; Vice Mayor read the proclamation text. Barbara Clark, executive director of the Lake County Arts Council, thanked the council, recognized local arts organizations and volunteers (including Vision’s gallery, Peg TV, Middletown Arts Center and the Lake County Theater Company), and urged ongoing public support for arts events and youth arts programs.
Council also read a Fair Housing Month proclamation citing the federal Fair Housing Act and the city's commitment to equal housing opportunities and appropriate activities by public and private entities. No council action or funding request accompanied the proclamations; they were ceremonial recognitions.
