Council business on March 19 included an introduction of a new staff member and brief service updates.
City Manager Whitten introduced Mary Hbert as the city's new director of Business Systems and Innovations, saying she started earlier in the week and that council members received her resume and job description in their agenda packets. "Mary is the city's new... director of business systems and innovations. I'm passing down to you Mary's resume and the job description," Whitten said.
Deputy Mayor Goins thanked public works for installing flashing lights at VAR, saying he had received calls and expected the lights will help slow down drivers approaching stop signs: "I got a lot of calls last night and this morning about them. I believe... those lights will stop people from speeding through those stop signs hopefully." The council also heard a brief recap of a recent town hall and praise for staff participation.
These items were presented as informational; there were no formal council motions related to the personnel introduction or the public-works installation reported in the agenda text.
