The Board of Public Works voted Tuesday to award the 26th Street construction project B (North 8th Avenue) to Switlik for $1,279,989.75, following a public opening of six bids.
Staff reported the bids during the meeting. “So, from Switlik, $1,279,989.75,” the staff member said while reading the submissions. Other bids listed were Haas at $1,280,877.96; A1 at $1,374,600; Francis Melvin at $1,385,308.83; Steen at $1,489,126; James Peterson at $1,570,698.56; and Earth at $1,686,708.75.
The board moved to approve the staff recommendation to award the contract to the low bidder and approved the motion by voice vote. A board member commented that the bids were “some tight bids,” and the meeting record shows a single voice vote recorded as in favor.
The award advances the procurement step for the 26th Street project; staff indicated no immediate amendments to the award were discussed on the record. The board then moved on to other agenda items, including additional bid openings and project updates.
