Redwood City — The Redwood City School Board spent more than two hours on Oct. 16 reviewing an implementation plan to translate the facilities master plan and Measure S bond priorities into a sequenced program of projects, but took no formal action.
Rick, a district staff presenter, told the board the implementation plan is intended to “translate the long‑term goals outlined in the facilities master plan … into a clear sequenced roadmap identifying which projects should move forward first, how they align with available funding and the steps needed to begin design and construction.” He emphasized the study session was for input, not approval.
Nick Olsen and Eric Vanpelt of VPCS, the district’s bond program managers, described three sample scenarios: a TK‑focused rollout, a districtwide priority package and a blank “plug‑and‑play” option that preserves funding flexibility. They reminded trustees the district has already committed Measure S quick‑start work — LED lighting and the first phase of HVAC replacements — and that Measure T (2015) funded earlier solar and other campus upgrades.
