On March 23 the Carpinteria City Council accepted the 2025 General Plan annual progress report and directed staff to submit the document to the state offices specified under the Government Code.
Planning staff noted the report covered five main sections and highlighted 330 building permits and 12 residential certificates of occupancy in 2025, approvals of design and development applications, and completion of infrastructure work on Linden Avenue. Staff also summarized housing-implementation steps and upcoming environmental-review steps for the updated plan.
Council accepted the report and motioned that staff transmit it to the state agencies (Local Coastal Implementation/LCI and the California Department of Housing and Community Development). There was no recorded opposition to the motion.
Next steps: staff will post updated draft materials online (hot-topics page), complete environmental review steps and schedule public outreach meetings during the next phase of the plan update.
