The Little Rock Planning Commission recommended approval of file Z-10232A, a request to rezone a 0.36-acre parcel at the southeast corner of Colonel Glenn Road and Marigold Drive from R2 (single-family) to R4 (two-family).
Planning staff (Mr. Moore) said the site is currently undeveloped and partially tree-covered, surrounded by mixed uses. He told the commission the city's future land use plan designates the property MX (mixed use) and that the requested R4 zoning would not require a land-use-plan amendment. "Staff recommends approval of the requested R4 rezoning," Mr. Moore said.
Applicant Patricia Hines said she requested the rezoning "because it's required for the construction that I want to do." No public opposition spoke at the hearing, and a commissioner moved to approve the rezoning. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with the commissioners present voting in favor.
The approval is subject to the comments and conditions outlined in paragraph E of the staff report and the agenda staff analysis.
