Board adopts LCAP update, selects UCSF Multitudes screener and approves routine governance items

Trustees adopted the 2025–26 Local Control and Accountability Plan, selected the UCSF Multitudes reading screener for K–2, and approved a slate of routine items including pre‑qualified vendors, the Education Protection Account resolution and a teacher‑union release‑time MOU.
At its June 17 meeting the Redondo Beach Unified School District board approved several annual and routine governance items.
Key approvals included the 2025–26 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) annual update after stakeholder review and a June 10 public hearing, and adoption of the UCSF Multitudes reading difficulties risk screener for K–2 students following MTSS committee pilot and recommendation to meet new state requirements (Ed Code 530008).
Trustees also approved multiple procurement pools and resolutions, including pre‑qualified construction inspection, surveying and construction management firm lists (RFQ2020‑05, RFQ2025‑04, RFQ2025‑03), the Education Protection Account resolution (part of LCFF/Propositions 30 and 55), temporary interfund borrowing authority and delegation of routine budget adjustment authority. The board approved a memorandum of understanding allowing RBTA president Janelle Tanaka 20% additional release time, reimbursed by CTA, and adopted the annual declaration of need for fully qualified educators for 2025–26.
Board members were told that supporting documents and plans are posted on the district website for public review.
