The presentation projected approximately 1.87% savings in year one and a cumulative savings approaching $9.4 million over five years if the staffing assumptions hold. District staff said enrolled employees would resign no later than June 30, 2025, and that benefit commencement for participating, eligible retirements would be Aug. 1, 2025.
The board voted on multiple items (action items 11.1–11.11). Notable votes recorded during the open session:
- Superintendent Resolution 2425 ("Safe Zone") — motion by Martinez, second by Cruz; passed unanimously (5–0). - Final approval of the Public Agency Retirement Services (PARS) supplemental retirement plan — motion by Cruz, second by Martinez; passed unanimously (5–0). - Multiple board and pupil‑services policies, comprehensive school‑safety plans for 2024–25, and proclamations (including a recognition for developmental‑disabilities awareness) — all motions were seconded and passed in online voting with the student board member recorded as "yes."

The board also approved a procedural calendar change to move the second June meeting to Monday, June 23, 2025, to accommodate school travel to a national conference.
Board members did not provide substantive amendments to the retirement plan presentation during public session; staff said they would move forward with announcements and processing if the board’s approval remains in effect.
